The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry plans to register the trademark of Korea Insam, formally known as Ginseng, in China, Japan and the U.S., with a new logo of a ginseng root in the shape of a human form boosting it as an export item. The ministry will also help differentiate Korean ginseng from other competitors with the inscription of Korea Insam on its products. The newly designed logo will be featured in national publicity materials, tour guide books, and other promotional materials. It will also be included on an internet homepage (http:www.afmc.co.kr) for additional international exposure. Last year's exports of Korean ginseng amounted to US $90 million.
