The Korea Tobacco and Ginseng Corporation (KTGC) appointed Suh Chee-young as the first president of its subsidiary, the Korea Ginseng Company, Monday. Suh is the first president of a KTGC subsidiary selected from an open field of candidates. He has served as president of Daewoong, a pharmaceutical firm and headed Samsung Data Systems. Korea Ginseng was established on January 1, 1999 following its spin off from KTGC, as a part of a restructuring plan for the former state-run monopoly.
